Sit and Stay, Part Deux

October 29, 2019

More and more we are presented with evidence of how important it is to t

urn away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and sit quietly. There are even claims that meditation is the fountain of youth for the brain!

Most people tell me that they are unable to sit still for any length of time. My response is that is exactly why they should try. Full disclosure: my meditation practice comes and goes. There are days, weeks and even years where I am very disciplined about sitting for 20 minutes a day... But then there are times when I fall out of the habit. I sure do notice the difference! I often tell my students that meditation is like hygiene for the mind. If I don't get in there on a regular basis, that space can turn very messy!

Okay, so now you're convinced to try it, but maybe you're not sure where to start. Click HERE to read an article I wrote a couple of years ago for advice. Also, click HERE for a free, simple guided practice that uses mantra so you are able to follow your words and focus less on your effervescent thoughts.

I have an ulterior motive for offering you this guidance. I want you to join me in December when I am both a facilitator and practitioner in a 31-day meditation challenge. More on that later, but for now, I hope you'll sit and stay with me.
